Tax Preparation and Planning for Christian Business Owners and Families
Your tax planner and your financial planner sit at the same table.
Most tax firms file your return. Sound Tax sees your full year — preparation, year-round planning, and strategy under the same roof as your financial planner.
Three Ways to Work With Us
Pick the level of strategy and involvement that fits where you are.
Individual Tax Preparation
For individuals and families who want their return done right — without an ongoing planning relationship.
Personal returns from $750. Business returns from $2,000.
Full preparation included. Outside filing season, projections and estimated-payment work are available at $250/hour as needed.
Comprehensive Annual Tax Planning
For clients who want to stop reacting and start planning their tax picture throughout the year.
Starting at $1,000/month.
Includes both personal and business returns, year-round tax strategy, real-time projections, estimated-payment calculations, and year-end planning conversations.
Outsourced CFO Model
For business owners who need full financial infrastructure, not just a tax return.
Starting at $3,500/month.
Includes in-house bookkeeping (typically up to $500/month depending on volume), monthly strategic business planning, profitability and cash flow insights, and ongoing tax planning and preparation. For the full picture, visit the Business Services page →
A Word on Complexity
Some returns are simple. Some are more involved. When yours falls into the second camp, additional work is billed at $250/hour — and we'll always tell you before any meter starts. No invoices you weren't expecting.
Standard Returns
Most personal and business returns are priced from our published fee schedule, based on the forms and schedules involved. You'll know what the return costs before we begin — no surprise invoices, no hourly billing for routine work.
Added Complexity
Some returns require work beyond the standard schedule — multi-state filings, equity compensation, partnership allocations, basis tracking, or amended returns. Additional time is billed at $250/hour, and we'll always tell you before any meter starts.
High Complexity
Multi-entity restructuring, IRS representation, business transactions, or bookkeeping cleanup go beyond tax preparation entirely. These engagements are scoped and quoted upfront — fixed price, never after the work begins.
Sound Tax Might Be the Right Fit If…
You run a business and feel like your tax preparer and your financial advisor are working in different rooms.
You've been blindsided by an unexpected tax bill more than once.
Your tax situation includes more than a 1040 — equity compensation, K-1s, real estate, multi-state filings, or a business return.
You give generously and want a tax strategy that respects how you steward what God has provided.
You'd rather have one team handling tax, planning, and investment decisions together — not three separate phone calls.
We're not the right fit for everyone — and we're okay with that. But if this sounds like you, let's find out.

A monthly letter [[worth reading slowly.|text-color-teal]]
Thoughtful, practical, and rooted in stewardship. Delivered once a month!
Tax shouldn't feel like a once-a-year scramble.
Most people meet their tax preparer in March, send what they can find, and hope for the best. We'd rather work with you the whole year. Tell us where you are — your work, your family, the things making this complicated. If Sound Tax is the right fit, we'll say so. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.
